Alutaguse Sport Center – diverse sports opportunities
Trails
Alutaguse Sports Center offers well-lit health trails that provide excellent opportunities for sports enthusiasts. The trails are marked at 1 km, 2 km, 3 km, 5 km, and 7.5 km, and they also include a 10 km hiking trail and a 2.4 km roller track. Our trails are ideal for skiing, rollerblading, walking, running, cycling, and orienteering, offering a variety of training options for every athlete.
In addition to the forest trails, a light traffic road from the center leads to Illuka Manor and Kuremäe Monastery.
Pawed track
Alutaguse features a 2.4 km paved and lit loop that welcomes everyone. Inline skating and roller skiing speeds are much higher than walking, which requires greater attention and care towards others.
Hiking trail
The hiking trail is located in the Kurtna lake district and is part of Alutaguse National Park. The trail begins at the Nõmmejärve picnic area parking lot.
What makes the hiking trail unique is the dense placement of lakes in the landscape, offering the opportunity to explore a wide variety of landscapes and lake types, experience the local bog environment, and enjoy the rich mosaic of terrain and vegetation.
You can also book a guided adventure through Alutaguse Hiking Club, ranging from mushroom foraging to off-road expeditions.

Mobile Orienteering
A new permanent course with MOBO support has been established at the Alutaguse (also known as Pannjärve) Sports Center!
MOBO, or mobile orienteering, allows you to complete orienteering courses in a modern way, replacing traditional tools with smart devices. A mobile phone can serve as a map, compass, and checkpoint device all in one.

MOBO is suitable for anyone who values an active lifestyle and is interested in technology.

MOBO 1-2-3
- Download the MOBO app to your phone.
- After installation, enter your name in the app settings. Android users: if the MOBO internal QR reader doesn’t work well, you can try installing another QR reading app from Google Play.
- Using the orienteering map and magnetic compass on your screen, locate the selected checkpoint(s) (CP).
Checkpoints in the field are marked with information boards containing a unique QR code (or NFC tag). To mark your visit, take a photo of the QR code with your phone. - Select “Mark” from the MOBO app menu (or press the “Photo” button) and aim your phone’s camera at the code on the information board. Confirmation that you visited the checkpoint is sent to the MOBO website, where statistics about participants are kept. Select the next CP on the map and find it!
